Welcome to another battle report! This time, the battle was once again joined against the Adeptus Custodes.
Overall, this game made me realise synergies' importance to the Astra Militarum. The Scout Sentinel providing re-rolled 1’s to hit on those Terminators, alongside the proxied Leman Russ Exterminator providing the -1 AP buff to everything else, really stacked. Taking those Terminators out in turn one was a game changer, literally.
I’ve put the scores at the end, but see below from the report by our very own Lt Spade…

Operational Summary
Deployment and Initial Reconnaissance
Our forces, strategically deployed in the ruins, immediately established a formidable defense. The Scout Sentinel proved invaluable, identifying the significant threat of the enemy Terminators, enabling precise targeting and allocation of our forces.
The Vilniaus 39th arrayed for battle, with a solid defensive line to defeat any oncomers. The Scout Sentinel can be seen stalking forwards to mark enemy targets.
Engagement and Initial Strikes
The battle commenced with the Leman Russ Exterminator's overwatch fire, marking the onset of hostilities. As the enemy's Sisters of Silence advanced, our forces, particularly the central units led by Creed and the armored might of the Leman Russes and Rogal Dorn, unleashed a devastating barrage. This concentrated attack significantly weakened the enemy's Terminator squad.
Tactical Maneuvers and Key Engagements
The Chimera, adopting an aggressive stance, sought out and eliminated the lurking Callidus Assassin with its heavy flamers. In a remarkable display of marksmanship and tactical acumen, a Death Korps of Krieg trooper eradicated the last Terminator with a well-placed meltagun shot.
The heroic chimera charges ahead, burning the Callidus assassin, skulking in the ruins, with its twin heavy flamers, and enabling a Death Korps of Krieg trooper to fire it’s meltagun from a firing port, wiping out the last remaining terminator!
On the left flank, our Leman Russes faced the advancing Custodes Guardians, sustaining and inflicting moderate damage. Meanwhile, the Vindicare Assassin's attempt to target our Scout Sentinel was unsuccessful, a clear sign of disarray within the enemy ranks.
The LRBT comes under significant small arms fire as it engaged the enemy on the left flank.
The Rogal Dorn's swift response to the Custodes Guardians' charge on the right flank showcased our preparedness and resolve.
The Dorn, having advanced to get eyes-on targets, stood it’s ground despite being charged by a mighty squad of Guardians led by some sword-wielding champion.
Advancement and Heroic Actions
The Chimera, after discharging its Death Korps of Krieg passengers, boldly advanced further into enemy territory. It played a pivotal role in neutralizing the Sisters of Silence and capturing a vital objective.
The Death Korps of Krieg secure a ritual site, as the Chimera pushes on to flush more enemies out. Also seen, Attilan Rough Riders prepare to support the Dorn.
Unfortunately, our Sentinel, in a daring attempt to engage the Vindicare Assassin, was destroyed in melee combat.
The Scout Sentinel - chainsaw whirring - made a brave attempt to kill the dastardly Vindicare assassin. He failed, and paid the price when a Guardian squad finally turned up!
Counterattacks and Final Assaults
As the battle progressed, the Custodes Guardians overran and destroyed the Chimera on our left flank. In response, the Death Korps of Krieg squad opened fire, eliminating a key enemy character attacking the Rogal Dorn. Our Leman Russ, seizing an opportunity, boldly overran the enemy Vindicare Assassin, demonstrating our armor's offensive capabilities.
“Drive me closer, I want to crush them beneath my armoured treads!”
The battlefield's tide turned as it became evident that enemy forces were being systematically swept away. The final act of resistance, an enemy charge against the Leman Russ, was met with decisive and lethal firepower.
Casualties
The Chimera and Sentinel were lost in the engagement.
The Rogal Dorn and Leman Russes sustained moderate damage but remained operational.
Recommendations
Further develop infantry tactics to more effectively counter elite enemy forces.
Strengthen our anti-armor capabilities to ensure rapid and effective neutralization of high-value enemy units.
Enhance reconnaissance and intelligence gathering to reduce losses and improve strategic positioning.
Conclusion
The Vilnius 39th, through superior strategy, unyielding courage, and precise execution of tactics, successfully disrupted the enemy's ritualistic endeavors. This victory not only showcases our regiment's tactical prowess but also reaffirms our unwavering dedication to the Emperor's will. We stand as a testament to the strength and determination of the Astra Militarum in the face of chaos and heresy.

Vilnius 39th Astra Militarum
Overall this was an interesting game. My casualties were surprisingly light, and some of my units honestly didn’t do much. Lord Solar’s platoon basically just gave 3 orders a turn, and the Rough Riders just went and secured objectives I didn’t really need.
And here’s the score. It felt close to begin with, but eventually, I was able to overwhelm through sheer numbers and grind him down. Some luck on the secondaries pulled through, too.
As ever, thanks for reading!
