Another round of the local crusade narrative campaign. This time I was up against Orks, from the same Waaagh! as last time. After besting them to seize a crucial Relic of Arkanis - now in the hands of my trusty Tank Commander, Lt. Pask - the Vilniaus 39th was once again called on to stop them from seizing crucial supplies, and ideally capturing them for use by Imperial forces.
As usual, read below for the factual account of key actions by Lt. Spade…

Operational Summary
Initial Engagement
The Orks seized the initiative, ambushing our forward armor with an aggressive teleportation maneuver spearheaded by their Weirdboy. Green lightning delivered a mob into overwatch range of Pask’s Demolisher, which obliterated multiple foes. Despite their ferocity, the Weirdboy’s attempt to assassinate Lt. Pask was thwarted.
The Mekboy's Shokk Attack Gun claimed early Imperial blood, decimating a Mortar team as they readied their bombardment. Undeterred, the Mordian Catachans dismounted from their Chimera, coordinating a flamethrower assault that eradicated the ambushers.
On the right, Bone’ead Bonecrusher and his Ogryns dismounted to intercept an advancing mob of Nobz. With disciplined fire from their ripper guns, they thinned the attackers. Nearby, our Scout Sentinel and a Chimera combined firepower to destroy an enemy Trukk, its flaming wreckage causing minor injuries among the Ogryns as it veered out of control.
Orks Counterattack
The Nobz charged the Ogryns on the right flank, engaging them in a brutal melee. Meanwhile, a mob of Stormboyz assaulted the Mordian Chimera from above, inflicting significant damage in close combat.
The Mekboy struck again, annihilating the remnants of Sgt. Shell’s Mortar Squad. With their position compromised, the Sentinel and Catachans retrieved supplies and fell back towards Imperial lines.
Reinforcements arrived on the left flank: a platoon of Death Korps of Krieg under a Marshal. Their precise lasgun volleys neutralized an incoming mob of Squighog Riders and destroyed a second enemy Trukk attempting a flank. In the center, Ol’ Faithful’s autocannons eliminated another Ork mob, leaving their Warboss vulnerable. Despite their losses, the Ogryns held firm, delaying the Nobz and buying critical time for our tanks to reposition.
Climax of the Engagement The Warboss and remaining Squighog Riders charged the Death Korps reinforcements in a devastating assault. The Marshal rose to the challenge, slaying the Ork Warlord in single combat at great personal cost. The platoon, however, was wiped out to the last man.
On the right, with the Ogryns fallen, their Chimera exacted vengeance, its heavy flamers incinerating the last of the Nobz.
The Emperor’s Wrath
In the final moments, the Marshal, though grievously wounded, defeated the Squighog Riders’ leader in a duel of blades. Demoralized, the remaining Orks retreated, firing sporadic parting shots. One rocket struck Sgt. Walker’s Sentinel, severing a leg and sending it crashing into the dirt.
Victory was declared, though at a sobering cost.
Casualties
Mortar Squad: Destroyed by enemy fire.
Ogryn Squad: Wiped out in combat with Nobz.
Death Korps Reinforcements: Annihilated holding the left flank.
Scout Sentinel: Disabled, pending recovery.
Moderate damage to Chimeras and tanks.
Recommendations
Infantry Resilience: Deploy additional squads to support exposed artillery crews.
Counter-ambush Tactics: Invest in improved scouting and rapid response strategies to counter enemy teleports.
Reinforced Armor: Enhance Sentinel durability and anti-armor capability.
Melee Preparedness: Equip platoon leaders with upgraded power weapons for enhanced defensive measures.
Conclusion
Against the feral fury of the Orks, the Vilnius 39th upheld the Emperor’s honor. From the resolute defense by the Ogryns to the Marshal’s heroic duel, this engagement stands as a testament to our unwavering faith and courage. Supplies were secured, the WAAAGH! was shattered, and another victory added to the annals of Imperial glory.
For the Emperor!

Another fun game against a very gracious & greenskinned opponent. This was my first time taking an Ogryn squad for a spin. I didn’t get the best use out of them, in particular with their shooting, however they did serve as a good speed bump against an onrushing mob of Nobz!
And that’s it for this round! As always thanks for reading!
The overwatch on that teleport ambush attempt was brutal. Awesome play by the greenskins to get stuck in early though.
